Bernice Lucas was born to the late Willie and Alberta Davis in Augusta,
Georgia on October 15, 1936. She departed this life on March 19, 2018
after a brief illness.

Bernice affectionately known as Mama to everyone who knew her was
educated in the Georgia Public School System.

She came to Baltimore at a young age where she later met and married
Melvin Lucas Sr. in 1965 they remained married until his death in 1985.

Mama worked for many years at the Court Square Building Restaurant,
her last job held which she loved to go every Saturday was at Joseph H.
Brown Jr. Funeral Home.

She made her life's dedication to love an nurture any and everyone she
knew or needed her. She enjoyed people in general. She made you laugh,
and gave you joy and happiness. She loved to sing and loved music.
Mama cooked, she sang, she danced and love you all at the same time. She
was full of humor, full of life and also very outspoken. The love from
Mama will always be cherished and truly missed. Her love was very
special and also very different than any other you will ever experience,
but most of all absolutely unforgettable. She was our Mama, and simply
the BEST!

She was always willing to help any and everyone. The doors of 1921 was
always open. Mama will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

Mama leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Tammy(Donnell)
Dunston, Lisa Lucas and Kathy Lucas; two grandsons whom she raised
as her sons, Harold and Martrell Lucas (Risha) one niece whom she raised
as her daughter, Lori; several other children, Andrew, Marvin, Tuscon,
Odell, Melvin Jr., Tony, Maryann and Teresa; grandchildren, Shamika,
Richard, Melvin, Muffin (Patchy), Lisa, Brian, Tyrez, Latifa, Raymond,
Keyone, Morjae, Stinky, Malik, Michael, Melkeyia and Adrian; great
grandchildren, Hailey, Zae', Samodnea, Poodie, Samontae, Sammy, Ava,
Arianna, Gabriel, Zoe, Melvin Jr., Elijah, Larry, Lily, Zhyaira, Brian Jr.,
Brook, NyWauna, Ny'lah and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.
