Bessie "Alice" Bowie born July 11, 1951 to Ella Nora Myers-Dcmby and the late Alexander Henry Demby. Alice, as we all know her, departed her life suddenly on June 04, 2013. Alice attended Baltimore City Public Schools and accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She loved to fellowship with her Christian family at Greater Gethsemene Baptist Chrch in Baltimore City. Alice birthed 3 beautiful children; Hazel Harding, Adrian Jones and Kevin Byrd but she was a mother figure to so many more. To know her was to love her. On April 11, 1981, Alice married the love of her life, Leon Bowie. Alice had a loving, kind and gentle spirit. She was always willing to help someone and lend a helping hand. She had a genuine talent for cooking, and everyone loves her potato salad. Her talent for cooking led her to work several well known food chains through out the city. Establishments like Sabitino's, Meals-On-Wheels, and Scully's know Alice all too well. She left an impression at those businesses that will last forever. Alice also had a passion for casino's and BINGO and knew how to wear a mean scarf. Alice had an unconditional love for each of her grand children and she showed them all in her own special way, especially her attachment with her great grand son Malik. She personally shared a bond with all of grand and great grand children and they each held their own special place in her heart. Alice was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Demby; her brother Ernest Myers; and her niece Erica Demby. Alice leaves to cherish her memories her husband Leon Bowie; her mother Ella Nora Demby; her children Hazel Harding, Adrian Jones and Kevin Byrd; sisters Peggy Demby and Berniece Jones; her brothers Charles Demby and John Demby; her favorite aunt Alfreda Miles; sisters-in-law Diane Myers, Gloria Sunders, Phyliss Fredrick, Diane Harrison and Elaine Bowie; brothers-in-law Mavin Fredrick and Tyrone Bowie; grand children Phillip, Ashley, Sierra, Taja, Donyea, Quadrean, TyKira, Christopher, Li I Kevin, Ishnae, Devin and Ivyona; great grand children Jonathan, Malik, Jcron, Baby Tae and Trey von; her best friends Mr John, Natalie, Ms Delores, Aunt Mel, Essie and Needie; her favorite nephew Chuck; favorite niece Tina; and an abundance of family and friends.
