Bettie Maria Delgado was born on Ma6y 23, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. Bettie was one of eight children of the late William Edward Fitzgerald Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Fitzgerald. She quietly departed this life on earth Monday, January 23, 2012 at 9:30 am after a lengthy illness. "Bettie," "Bettie Boo," as she was affectionately called was educated in the Baltimore city Public School system. she went on to further education as a Nursing Aid at City Hospital. After her training she began her employment with the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. Bettie was married to the late John Delgado. One son was born to Bettie, "Tyrius" who was the apple of her eye and center of her joy. Bettie was very simplistic, giving, and generous. Her hobby was playing Pitty Pat and Tonk with her family and friends. she loved bargain hunting even though she had very simple taste. Her abundant life prepared her for a peaceful death. She was preceded in death by her sister Gloria Newman and brother Ira Fitzgerald. "Bettie" leaves behind to cherish her memory her only son, Tyruis Big Fitz and her daughter-in-law Patricia Hebb-Fitzgerald. she also leaves her grandson Darius McDaniels, granddaughter Taneka Fitzgerald of georgia, and two foster daughters, Denise McFadden and Roselind Myles to mourn her passing. Bettie leaves three sisters, Laura Moore, Angela Steeple, and Patricia Fitzgerald as well as two brothers, William Fitzgerald Jr. and Walter Bernard Fitzgerald of Baltimore, Md. She also leaves two brothers-in-law, Jerome Moore and Matthew Steeple Jr. and one sister-in-law Pattie H.M. Fitzgerald. Bettie also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as a host of other relatives and lifetime associates and friends that will miss her dearly. Bettie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all whom she came into contact with. she will be sincerely missed by all.
