Bettie S. Flowers was the fifth of six children born to the late Daniel and Fannie Rascoe on January 7, 1938 in Bertie County, Windsor, Norht Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 3:49 a.m. at Bon Secours Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Bertie County Schools. Bettie became a member of Indian Woods Missionary baptist church in Windsor, North Carolina. she later relocated to Baltimore, Maryland. Bettie was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Armond Flowers on August 8, 1958. To this union she was blessed with three daughters. Bettie was a hard worker... even when she reached the age to retire and relax her body, she continued to work part time. "Ma-Ma," the name she was called by her grandchildren, did not suffer long. Within a twinkle of an eye God called her home to rest peacefully in His bosom. Bettie's enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews in North Carolina. she loved to cook, travel and talk on the telephone. We all know she love us, and we loved her...she was our backbone. Bettie' love will forever be remembered in the hearts of her three daughters, Arnetta Flowers, Charlena Flowers and Natalie Flowers, who all reside in Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren, Kelly Williams, Tiffany Flowers and antonio flowers; three great-grandchildren, Javontay Williams, Deja Williams and Darron Williams; brother, Joe Lewis Rascoe of Merry Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Janie Outlaw of windsor, N.C. and fannie OUtlaw and willie brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, including her best friend Marian Hicks; and a goddaughter, Mia E. Simmons. She was preceded in death by two sisters Hattie Wimbish and Naomi razor.
