IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Streat
Anderson
October 23, 1946 – February 9, 2021
BETTY CARMEN STREAT-ANDERSON was born on October 23,1946 to the late Audrey Streat and Joseph Streat in Baltimore Maryland. Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her saviour at an early age and was dedicated to her faith. She adored her father and talked about their wonderful memories that they shared together frequently. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools and later went back to school 38 years later to obtain her high school diploma in 2003 from Douglas High School. Betty married Lynwood Anderson. Betty took pride in raising her two children, Pebbles and Antron. She worked for Baltimore City Public Schools as a paraprofessional and later became a secretary to the guidance counselor; she held this position until she retired. She enjoyed going to the casino to play quarter slots and her favorite saying was, "scared money don't make money". She also enjoyed eating crabs and playing pinochle with a group of friends. Her children were the loves of her life and she enjoyed being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she loved to cook and bake from scratch. Her furry best friend, Candy, was her dear cat who she loved deeply. We are sure that upon receiving her call Betty probably said "Lord, I don't want to leave my family," but God knew better. He had watched his child suffer for too long and knew that she was tired and needed some rest. Betty was truly a beautiful and spiritual person that made an impact on each life that she came in contact with.
Betty is survived by her children Larrice "Pebbles" Harris and Antron Bryant, sisters Shirley Jones, Audrey "Cookie" Streat, and Jean Magwood, one brother Joseph S. Streat Jr., Karen Brooks, 12 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren, her cat Candy, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
