Obituary

Betty Jean Mack born on April 1, 1936 to the blessed union of the late Juanita Chestnut and Harrison (Harry) Chestnut in Darlington County, South Carolina. She completed her life's journey on November 26, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty affectionately known as "Boosta" received her education in Hartsville, South Carolina. She attended Butler High School where she met Murry Mack. While in high school they dated and soon after Betty and Murry decided to join as one through marriage and started a family of their own. From this union Cathy Mack (Jackson), Betty Mack (Camphor), and Kenneth Mack were introduced to the world. Residing in several states together, Betty and her family settled down making Baltimore, Maryland their home.

Throughout her life, Betty remained a diligent worker until retirement. Her work experience included machine operating at a company called Doxie, and many years working in the public school system through Johnson Control and Baltimore City. When Betty wasn't working she often enjoyed spending her free time traveling, shopping, and being attentive to those she cared about.

Betty lived an abundant life. Even in her golden years she remained very lively, independent and vibrant. She will be truly missed by all who knew her for her affectionate personality, gentle voice, wit, and genuinely kind heart. She was preceded in death by her loving Husband; Parents; Brothers, R. J. Williams, Russell Chestnut, Levern and Leroy Kennedy; Sisters, Willie Jean Chestnut, Emma Hough, and Jessie Dixon.

Betty leaves precious memories and a legacy of love to her children, Cathy Jackson, Betty Camphor, and Kenneth Mack; Grandchildren Tenille Ross, Tia Smith, Tierra Smith, Ronald Brown II (Rachel), Vernon Camphor Jr. (Kareema), and Kenya Mack; Great Grandchildren, Tyree, Tyreek, Ty'janae, Ty'laya, Ronald III, Paige, Sean, Madison, Haiven, Chase, Cameron, and Jaxon; Brothers, Louise B. Chestnut (Mary), Joseph H. Chestnut (Ida), McAruthur William, Ronnie Williams (Sarah), and Leon Williams (Vivian); Sisters-In-Law Helen, Ruth, Gloria, Brenda, Theresa, and Louise; Brothers-In-Law Von( Gussie) and Vern; Long time friends Mable McNeal, Betty Powell, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
