IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beulah
Ball
January 28, 1931 – January 8, 2018
Beulah Ball was born to the late Charles and Caroline Johnson
on January 28, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed
this life January 8, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Beulah was
affectionately known as
"Hun"
by family and friends. At
church, Beulah was addressed as
"Mother Bali."
Beulah accepted Christ at a very early age. She was
extremely faithful. She joined Shiloh CC Church in the early
1960s under the leadership of Reverend George Baynard. She
served in many capacities from singing on the choir to a
leadership position as deacon under Reverend Jimmy C.
Baldwin. Mother Ball was respected and loved by the church.
She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully worshipped Him
until she was called home.
She received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools.
She worked outside of the home for a brief time. Her passion
was raising her children, taking care of her husband, and
supporting her large family. In the midst of caring for her
family, she worked in several industries. In her community
she was known for her caring, compassionate, and loving
nature.
Hun was always cooking and preparing food for her family
and anyone seeking sustenance in the form of a meal.
Leaving her home hungry was not an option. Hun either had
flour on her hands or hot grease on the stove. Hun is credited
" by many as the creator of sweet tea and lemonade mixed -
"half and half."
In 1947, Beulah met the love of her life, James "Buster" Ball.
They married on December 18, 1948. From that union they
were blessed with five beautiful children; Bernard, Bernice,
Phillip, Michele, and Barbara. Unfortunately, Beulah was
preceded in death by her: husband and two sons.
Hun was loved and cared for by many family and friends.
During her illness, Brandon, Brent, and Erica were dutiful
caregivers.
Beulah is survived by three daughters-Bernice, Michele,
Barbara; two sons-in-law -Marlow and Edward; nine
grandchildren-Marlow III, Corey, Brian, Bridget, Erica,
Brandon, Brent, Desmond, and Donte; fifteen great-
grandchildren; two sisters-Dorothy Sweets and Odella
Strawberry; two sisters-in-law+ Adelaide and Jean; and a
host of nieces and nephews. Along with a very dedicated
friend Mrs. Hannah Lee Johnson.
