Obituary
BEULAH ENID CARR was born in Cunupia in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the late Robert and Eliza Oliver on October 12, 1923. She was one of six children. She transitioned from this life on March 20, 2021 after ninety-seven years. She was educated in the primary government school system in Trinidad. After completing school, she was trained as a seamstress and worked at Micro Garment Factory and Elite Factory for many years. She married Wallace Carr in 1960, who precedes her in death.
Beulah immigrated to the United States in 1971 and worked as a domestic until her retirement. After her retirement, she was able to enjoy spending time in Trinidad and other countries. She enjoyed family life, especially family outings to picnics at Gunpowder State Park, the Chesapeake Bay beaches, and Summer in the Park in Washington, D.C. Whenever she returned to Trinidad, specifically during the Carnival season, she would have a family get-together with the family in Trinidad and those family members and friends visiting from the United States, England and Canada.
Beulah became an avid crocheter in her later life (self-taught), which she referred to as "knitting". She loved making afghans, baby blankets, hats and scarves for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and friends. She loved doing word finds "to keep her brain active".
She leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Yvonne; her children, Elton, Fitzroy (Milo), Jacqueline (Joyce), Cynthia, Lyris (Patsy), Melca, Betty-Ann, Sylvester, Steve and John (Junior); daughters-in-law, Joan, Sheila, Cheryl-Ann, Nadine, Claudette, Aliza and Sophia; sons-in-law Gordon, Albert and Clyde: 40 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Calvin. Also siblings; Angelina, Lawrence (Leon), Sybil and Sylvester; daughters-in-law Barbara and Norma. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
