October 25, 1940 – January 27, 2021
Billy Ray Westmoreland was born to Walter and Lucious (Lucy) Westmoreland on October 25, 1940 in Marion, North Carolina. Our Lord and Heavenly Father called him home on January 27, 2021.
Billy attended Carver Vocational Technical High School completing studies in Auto Mechanics. During that time he also took swimming, and was a part of the swim team where he excelled. Billy served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia. On May 15th, 1981 Billy became ordained, later joining Mannor Baptist Church in 1994. After becoming Assistant Pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, he officiated weddings, funerals and other pastoral duties. Billy Loved the Lord and sharing his word.
Billy also loved motorcycles. He spent time customizing, painting and entering his bikes in shows for competition, most often winning. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his family.
Billy married Jeannie Mae Dangle and out of that union their daughter Caroline was born.
Billy was preceded in death by his Parents, Lucious and Walter; Brothers, Willie James, Jesse, Jake, Walther, Edward (Pap) and Sister Essie Lee.
He leaves to rejoice in his Legacy: two brothers, A.C. and Howard; son, Chris; daughter, Caroline Westmoreland-Smallwood; son, Brian Williams; grandchildren, Rodney Coates Jr., Alexis Westmoreland, Ryeshema Johnson, Akeelah Westmoreland, Naim Williams, Noah Williams; great grandchildren Alauna Farmer, X-Naih Bennett; son-in-law, Raymond Smallwood, and the Westmoreland family and friends.
