Blanche Wicks was born on February 4, 1920 to the late William and Bernice Reynolds in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the second of two children raised in a Chriatian home by a God-fearing mother and was taught by precepts and examples to follow the principles of God's Word. consequently she received Christ as her Lord and Savior. Blanche was educated in the puyblic schools of Baltimore City. Later she met Fracis Wicks and on December 29, 1940, they were jioned in Holy Matrimony. From this union were born nine children. she served humanity at The Johns Hopkins Hospital as a nurse's assistant. She also served many by giving, teaching, and believing in what was possible for them. "Mother", as she was affectionately known to her family, was a kind and sensitive person who was full of wisdom. She loved her husband who preceded her in death, children, and had the compassion of Jesus. She took those same qualities into the ministry as she served as pastor of the Holy Cross Spiritual Temple for many years. Her gifts of prophesy and insight helped her successfully grow the United Baptist Convention where she served as prsident for many years. Mother leaves to cherish fond memories; her children, five sons, Jerome deceased, Donald Barbara Jean, Marvin June, Allen Charon, and Gregory; four daughters, Marion, Blanche George, Gloria and Delores, twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one-great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a host of adopted children, friends and love ones.
