Obituary

Brian Lamont Banks Jr. was born on June 23, 1995 in Baltimore, Maryland to Kawona Huntley and the late Brian Banks Sr.,. Brian departed this life unexpectedly on May 26,2016.

"BJ," as he was affectionately called by many was a remarkable, wonderful person that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Brian was educated in the Baltimore City Public School Systems. "He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and hanging out with his friends". BJ had a smile that lit up the room whenever he walked in; seeing that million dollar smile would make your heart
melt and would bring a smile or grin to you. There was something about the way he smiled; that was the kind of smile that made you feel happy to be alive. You could see his soul through his smile. Brian enjoyed listening to all types of music. Brian especially enjoyed singing he would bellow out Monica and Keyshia Cole. Anyone who knew BJ knew when he embraced you and said "LOVE YOU" he meant it
and you knew then that you held a place in his heart.

My son lived life on his terms. He listened, but did not take advice. He was a free-spirit who lived in the present, and again, on his terms. He was a leader who made friends so easily and was true to each and everyone of them. I sit here with a
broken heart. The loss of a child is something I could have never prepared for. I wasn't ready. I'm still not ready.

Brian did not die on his terms. He did not want to leave us because he loved us. Brian was on loan to us and God almighty felt it was his time and called him home. Our lives will never be the same. He made sure of that.

Brian loved his family especially his mother Kawona and sister Lee'ah, who he was very protective of. He had a special bond with his grandmother Jewelry (Nana), and his grandfather Jim (Daddy). When things didn't go his way he could always count on Nana (why you keep yelling Jury) and Daddy (yea, go ahead Brian) to take his side and tell him yes. Brian had a special relationship with all his cousins but especially Shay who was like his brother. Although a few years younger Brian treated Shay as if he was the oldest.

He leaves to cherish his memory: mother Kawona Huntley; stepfather Leroy Church; siblings Lee'ah Huntley, Leroy Church Jr. & Denasha Banks; grandparents Floyd and Jewelry Huntley, Francis Church, Andrew & Joanne Brown; aunts Vinita Payne, Chevelle Huntley, Angela Ramseur, Demetriuris Jones, Lashonda Mitchell-Jackson & Sharon Vincent; uncles Floyd Huntley III, Brian Huntley & William
Cuffee Jr. and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends.
