IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brian D.
Owens
January 4, 1959 – April 17, 2019
Mr. Brian Dollison Owens, son of the late Delores and Harrold
Owens of Baltimore, MD, was called home to everlasting
peace on April 17, 2019 after bouts of illnesses.
Brian received his education in the Baltimore City Public
School System and graduated from Carver Vocational- Techni-
cal High School in 1977. After graduation he entered the U.S.
Marine Corp where he served from 1977 to 1981, and then
married his honey, Carla Tyson, on April 18, 1981. This union
brought forth a beautiful daughter, Karla Owens.
For many years he worked at the University of Maryland
Hospital as one of the most popular environmental engineers
in the building. Following he joined Johns Hopkins Hospital at
Bayview as a transportation specialist. After years of working
in the medical system, he was unable to continue working due
to health complications.
Brian lived life to the fullest, without regret, or concern of
judgement from others. He was a big time fan of athletics and
loved watching the Orioles, Maryland football and basketball,
and Ravens games as he drank his favorite adult beverage, Colt
45. He loved his family and especially enjoyed teasing his
sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. He loved his Me-
Cullough Street and Druid Hill hoods, and frequented his home
away from home and family on Lexington Street.
Mr. Brian Dollison Owens leaves to cherish his memory: his
ardent daughter, Karla Owens-Moody, MBA, DBA, MAT (c)
(Rodney Moody); flourishing grandson, Kaden McKai Andru
Owens; dedicated friend Yvonne 'Pooh, Cricket' Wilson; sis-
ters: Jacqueline Harris, Lavinia Owens, Catherine Owens,
Betty Harris, Felicia Owens (Curtis Johnson), and Kendra
Owens: Brothers; James Owens, Geoff Savage, David McKoy.
Aunts: Sue, Joan, and Betty; Uncles: Nat and Joe; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
