IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bridget Leach
Scott
November 25, 1959 – November 26, 2024
In loving memory of our remarkable Bridget Elizabeth Scott, who brought light and joy to all who knew her. Affectionately known as "B", Bridget transitioned home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2024, just one day after celebrating her sixty-fifth birthday. She was born on November 25, 1959, in Baltimore City to the late William Leach Sr. and Corrine Leach. She received her education through the Baltimore City Public School System. Bridget found joy in skating, often organizing trips to the rink and sharing her love of music with her community by placing her radio in the window for neighbors to enjoy. The electric slide became a signature memory, with friends and neighbors joining her in the street to dance and celebrate life. Family was her foundation, and Bridget was the glue that held everyone together. From game nights to birthday celebrations, her sobriety milestones, and cherishes holidays, Bridget created a home full of love and laughter. Thanksgiving held a special place in her heart, where she combined her love for family with her passion for helping the homeless, demonstrating her generous spirit. Her love for music extended beyond her home.
She was a member of the New Advacennia Pentecostal Choir, where she ministered through song in nursing homes, jails, and funeral services. Bridget was also a dedicated educator, working over twenty-five years with the Baltimore Public School System. Her passion for children brought her back to work in 2016, though her illness forced her to leave work in 2024. A long-time member of Empowerment Temple AME Church, Bridget's faith guided her life. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, generosity, and joy will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Bridget's laughter was infectious, her hugs were warm, and her unwavering belief in the power of love and community left an indelible mark on everyone she touched. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, faith, and an open heart. She reminded us all of the beauty in life's simplest moments and the strength found in togetherness. Rest in peace, Bridget, as your light shines on through the lives of your family, friends, and all those you touched.
Bridget was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Harry Truman Edison, Randolph Edison, Allen Thomas Edison, and Roslyn Leach. Bridget Scott leaves to cherish fond memories: A very special friend Mr. Tanker for over 20 years; her five sons, Kevin Leach (leisha), Charles Scott (Tonia), Melvin Scott, William Scott, and Jide Sodipo; four daughters Rozetta Dorsey, Valerie McCory Cobb, Claudette Scott (Drew), and Cassandra Johnson; twenty-four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joesph Edison of Bronx, NY, Joe Winslow Edison (Zenobia); five sisters, Marie Wikes (James) of Florence, SC, Karolean Edison Campbell (Philip), Ester Tate, Bettie Hundley, Phyliss Noble (Greg); six extended grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends.
