CALVIN D. BARNES, the son of the late Savannah and Viola Barnes was born on February 23, 1942. Calvin was born with a developmental disability and ultimately lost his sight at a very young age. Although he did not receive a traditional education, he was very intelligent and able to navigate his way through life despite his challenges. He served as an example to all those around him to not take anything for granted. Calvin was very funny, at least he thought so, often laughing out loud at his off-hand comments. Anybody who ever spoke to Calvin knew chat he was going to ask them for a dollar. Calvin will definitely be missed but never forgotten.

Calvin was preceded in death by his four older siblings: brothers John Sr. and Robert Barnes, and sisters Helen Barnes and Jean Webster. He leaves to cherish his memory: nephews, John Barnes Jr, Thomas and Cermontine Webster; nieces, Jeanette Barnes and Sharon Webster; and a host of other nieces, nephews and ocher relatives.
