Calvin Robert Young, son of the late George and Geneva Young was born November 9, 1942 and departed this life on April 3, 2015. At an early age Calvin joined the Trinity Baptist Church where he was baptized and served as an active part of the Sunday School, Youth Choir and Boy Scouts where he reached the rank of Eagle Scout. After the 1954 Brown vs Board of Education ruling Calvin was one of the first 10 African American students who entered the Baltimore City College in 1954. Calvin, a lover of mathematics and an avid track star graduated in 1960 with honors. Calvin, attended (at that time) Morgan State College where he partici- pated in ROTC and earned a spot on the Dean's list before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After serving for 2 years Calvin became ill and was medically retired in late 1963. Calvin who never married nor fathered children was dedicated to his family especially his younger siblings. Calvin spent the last 5+years living with his only sister, Geneva. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, George Jr., Arthur Lee Young and Artis Louis Young. He leaves to celebrate his life: nieces and nephews, Cynthia (William), Rodney (Trina), Ina (Gregory), Alana and Adrian Young. Great nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
