IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Davis-Chase
March 14, 1953 – September 26, 2018
Heaven is pleased to welcome one of its newest residents,
Carol
Davis-Chase.
Carol was the eldest of seven children born to the
late Peggy-Ann Jones and Joseph Davis. Carol, affectionately
known as Carolyn, was born in Denver, Colorado on March 14,
1953. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland when she was 6 years
old and was educated in the Baltimore City Public School Sys-
tem, where she graduated from Southern High School. After
completing high school, Carolyn went on to community college
for two years and majored in business.
Carolyn accepted Christ at a young age. As a child, she attended
Leadenhall Baptist Church and John Wesley United Methodist
Church, with her grandmother. Later, she became a member of
Lewin United Methodist Church where she served in numerous
capacities, as an usher and Communion Steward. However, Car-
olyn'S passion was singing in the church. During her time at
Lewin, she served on multiple choirs faithfully, the Sanctuary
Choir and the Three Generational Choir while also singing with
the Gary Hunt & the Family Concert Choir. In addition, she
served in the United Methodist Women organization, which is
the only official organization for women within the United Meth-
odist Church.
While being a dedicated member of the church and a willing
worker for Jesus, she met and married the love of her life, the late
Nicholas Ellsworth Chase. She and Nick, loved serving the Lord,
reading their bible, shopping, vacationing and spending time at
LaTonya's house.
As the matriarch of the family, Carolyn was a loving mother,
grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and devoted friend to many.
She always used the Lord's words to encourage everyone she
touched. She would often say to her friends and family,
"giv

and

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory: three loving and devoted
children, William (Vemice), LaTonya (Corey), and Mario; four
grandchildren, LaPria, Mariyah, Kennedy, and India, one great
grandchild, Keon Jr.; two sisters Pamela of Richmond, VA,
Andrea of Washington, D.C. and one brother James of Baltimore,
MD. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins'
and devoted friends.
Carolyn was proceeded in death by her husband, Nicholas Ells-
worth Chase, her granddaughter Kayah, sisters Michelle, Yvonne,
and Stephanie.
