IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn L.
Alford
October 19, 1946 – November 25, 2018
Carolyn Lee Alford daughter of the late William and Etta Brown was
born on October 19, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. Carolyn departed
this life on November 25,2018 after a lengthy illness.
Carolyn received her education in the Baltimore City public School
system and graduated from the Carver Vocational Technical High
School with a trade in cooking. It was also during this time that
Carolyn gave birth to a beautiful and precious baby girl whom she
would absolutely adore to this day.
Carolyn worked as a manager at Steak and Egg restaurant and the
Super Suds Laundry mat where she made numerous friends. She
later worked at the Raven's stadium as a manager in the VIP Sky
boxes until she retired because of a lengthy illness. Carolyn refused
to let anything slow her down. She would call mobility
and kept it moving where ever she wanted to go.
Although she had many siblings, Carolyn had a special relationship
with her oldest sister Barbara Gathers. The two of them were
inseparable. You never saw one without the other until Barbara
passed in 2002.
In 2006 on mother's day, Carolyn accepted Jesus Christ as her
savior and also joined the Morning Star Baptist Church with her
longtime friend Costella Spencer. For over 38 years Carolyn and
Costella remained best friends. This friendship allowed Costella
to take great care of Carolyn during her illness.
In 2013 both Carolyn and Stella took the responsibility of raising
a baby girl "La"Ryiah" whom she loved very dearly. She brought
much joy and love into Carolyn's heart and gave her the will to
live longer. She was Carolyn's little helper.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers,
Barbara, Garland, Linda, Brian and Diane.
She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter Tina Lorraine
Mable (James), Two grandsons, James III, Davon, four sisters,
