Carolyn Darlene Brown-Coby was the eldest daughter born to the late Wilbert Wilkins Sr and Edith Helen Jones-Wilkins on August 29,
1944 in Baltimore Md. "Darlene" as she was affectionately known departed her life after a brief illness on February 22, 2022 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools System and went on to work for Abe's Plumbing as well as being a Hostess at various Entertainment and Night Clubs.
Darlene was a former member of The Perkins Square Baptist Church but later went on to become a member of The Central Baptist Church of Baltimore City under The Reverend Montague J. Brackett/ Reverend Dr. Lorenzo Long. She served on the Nurses and Missionary ministry. Darlene was the Rock of the Family, and she will be truly missed.
Darlene loved to cook and feed the entire neighborhood (she had the heart of a Bea Gaddy) and she never turned anybody away. She hosted the best House
Parties, and Her children recall coming home from school and Darlene was feeding the Trash Men and the Mailman. She was always ready to run to the rescue of others and she was an advocate for the weak and needy. She took care of everybody's children, even the neighborhood children. If they needed food and clothing, she would provide for them and send them home.
Darlene was preceded in death by her siblings - Wilbert Jr, William "Billy,
"Timothy, and Gwen. She leaves to mourn her, Sheila, Lamont, Charles, Inell,
Rickey, Nadine, Nathan, and Tina. Darlene was the mother of 6 children Joseph
"Eric" (wife Letitia), Angela, Austin "Gary", Curtis (wife Natasha), William "Chill
Will" (wife Renee) and Craig (wife Mezette). Darlene leaves to cherish her
memory 28 Grandchildren (4 who preceded her in death) and 21 Great-Grand
Children. She had a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
