Obituary

Carolyn Roberta Hough affectionately known to many as "Nunnie" was born on January 24, 1944 to James Butler and Virginia Snead. Virginia Snead later married Edward Bishop Jr. who truly became the father figure in the lives of the butler girls; Janice, Joyce, and Deanna.

On January 25, 1964, she married the late Sylvester Hough. Out of this union she had three children: Robin Hough, Robert Hough, Jessica Brown, and bonus daughter Deborah Deminds.

Carolyn received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools, Where she excelled in her classes with honors. She was featured in the Booker T. Bulletin for displaying her educational talent. Although Carolyn was very focused on getting good grades in school, she also enjoyed singing in her school Choir. Carolyn furthered her education by attending Baltimore Community College earning h r Certification in Early Childhood Development. Her certification allowed her to start a career as a teacher at the Walter

P. Carter Daycare. She enjoyed teaching and spending time with students and coworkers. In the late 90's she retired from teaching to enjoy spending time at home with family and friends. While she loved being at home, Carolyn decided to jump back into the workforce. She began working in retail as an employee at Suited to Succeed. In this role, she assisted customers.in selecting outfits that helped them present themselves professionally during job interviews. Carolyn enjoyed the big end of the Gala, she would always say "All the big wheels of the city are going to be there."

Great at many things, her competitive spirit would make her family chuckle, she was so quiet and tough at the same time. Carolyn loved singing, dancing, listening to.music, playing board games and most of all shopping. A gentle giant, she had humble faith Iiving with unanswered questions, but was confident in God's goodness.

Carolyn loved spending time with her family; she knew she was going to have a good time, laughing and eating well. In her soft voice saying • Jessica what are you cooking". Carolyn also loved sweets, she couldn't live without her butterscotch pudding. Her • grandson {Brandon} made sure she received her special package, delivered to

"Grandma Nunnie". Her grandchildren were the apple of her eyes and the key to her heart. It was nothing she wouldn't do to keep a smile on their faces. They brought so much joy in her life as she watched her grandchildren grow into adults. She was proud of all her grands as,they all received degrees from their college of choice. They truly stole her heart until the great grand Parker er arrived. She displayed another kind of love. which was beautiful to see, making sure Parker always received something every visit.

She was preceded in-death by her parents James Butler, Edward Bishop and Virginia Bishop, three sisters, Janice Crockett, Joyce Hough, and Deanna Bryant, husband Sylvester Hough and son Robert Hough.
