Carolyn "Pauline" King the 4th of 9 children, was born June 4, 1943 to the late Clarice E. Charity-Barksdale and Edgar d. Basrksdale Sr., in Baltimore, Maryland, she departed this earthly life on September 24, 2012 after a period of illness. Her family and friends affectionately knew her as "Pauline." At an early age Pauline was among the first students to attend the ""Cedar villa Heights Community Sunday School in the late 1940's. Pauline joined community Baptist Church in Jessup, Maryland on June 15, 1958 and served as an usher and the church Choir where she continued her support until she relocated to Anne Arundal County Maryland. Pauline was truly a Psalm 23rd woman who knew where her real strength lied. Pauline received her formal education in Howard County Maryland and graduated from Harriet Tubman High School. Pauline will always be remembered as an active student that was a group and overall team player. It was in Howard County, Maryland were she met and married her friend and love of her life. Cecil B. King Sr., January 26, 1973 Pauline had one daughter and together with Cecil, from their union three more children were born. Pauline spent several years as an Administrative Assistant at Bowie State College and the remainder of her work experience at Research Analysis Institute in Jessup, Maryland as a supervisor where she later retired. Once retired. Pauline continued her selfless devotion to the Lord and her family. She wore many hats and juggled more of life's experiences than we will never know counselor, referee, teacher, homework buddy, pacemaker, spell checker, dictionary and thesaurus. She was compassionate, caring and dearly loved and supported her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 39 years, Cecil b. King, Sr.; four children; Crystal Pauline Carter, Alana Melissa King, Lakeisha Marie King and Cecil b. King, Jr., one son-in-law, glen Darnell Carter, Sr.; three God Children, Angela Charlene Brown, Gerald Maurice Brown, Sr., and one one God daughter that proceeded her in death, Michelle Elaine Brown; four grandchildren; Lacy Danielle Jones, Glenn Darnell Carter, Jr., Xavier Daevon King and Kayla Cecilia King, one grandson-in-law, Phillip D. Jones; two great-grandchildren; Chloe Barksdale, Gloria Clarice Barksdale, Shirley Maxine Bell, Roberta Elease Hill and Etna Alfreda Williams; three brothers, Edgar Douglas Barksdale Sr., Reginald Santo Barksdale and Michael Eugene Barksdale. Seven Sister in law, Dephine Barksdale, Linda Stone, Lenora Davis, Alma Harver, Charlee Bovan, Sharlyn Harver and Jennifer Stone and five brothers-in-law, Harold Bell, Calvin Hill, Earl Williams, McKinley Harver and Lewis Stone; two aunts, Marjorie Charity and Betty Charity. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special cousin, Patricia Holland.
