Carolyn Elizabeth Stepney, affectionately called Candy, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 7, 1949 to Mary Madeline Blackwell and the late Charles Haywood Stepney. God called her home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the University of Maryland Hospital after a lengthy illness. Candy was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was employed as a Paralegal/Collector for many years at some of Maryland's large corporations. Candy accepted Christ in her early years and loved the Lord. Candy enjoyed shopping, helping others and spending time with her family. Candy was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Brown; her grandmother, Ruth "Nan" Thomas; four brothers, Thomas Shelton, Vernon Stepney, Bernard Stepney and Edward Stepney; one sister, Marlene Stepney. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Mary Brown; brother, Charles Stepney; sister, Ruth Stepney; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Candy had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life.
