Obituary

Carolyn Travers was born Carolyn La-Fon Winder on October 26, 1961, to the late Charles, Sr. and Georgia Winder in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Affectionately known as Cat. She fought a courageous fight with cancer for a brief season, and finished her course on February 14, 2025, victory was won and she transitioned to her heavenly home healed.

Carolyn received her formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She furthered her education and skills by attending Job Corp in Woodstock, Maryland.

Cat was baptized at an early age and formed a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church where her mother laid the Christian foundation.

Carolyn career tenure exhibited a variety of skills, she was an Administrative Assistant for the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension Service, Urban Garden Department for over 15 years. She then proudly worked at Maryland Baptist Aged Home, where she enjoyed being a healthcare worker assisting those in need. Prior to her transition, she was a hostess at Maryland Live Casino. Carolyn was also excited about running her own logistic business, Travers, LLC. She was thrilled to have her articles of incorporation and EIN number; she saw it as her pathway to wealth.

Cat was funny and friendly. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she was so excited and appreciative of her last birthday celebration with all her loving family and friends. She loved to dress and take photos. She was crafty making baskets and selling them, tapping into her entrepreneur side. Family that preceded her in death was her parents Charles, Sr. and Georgia Winder, her beautiful sister Duane Winder, two awesome brothers Tony and James, Wise Jr. and her husband Lawrence Travers, Sr.
