Carrie Howard daughter of the late Annie and Joseph Stewart, Sr. was born on April 29,1927, in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed her earthly life on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, of natural causes. Carrie received her education in the Baltimore City Public School Systems. Carrie was born and raised in South Baltimore on Montgomery Street. Carrie began working at the 18 years old and worked various jobs throughout her life. She especially enjoyed working at Deaton Medical Center in the Laundry Department, until she retired in 1998. Carrie later moved to the Cherryhill Community and met the love of her life the late John William Howard, Sr. ("The Big Lo"). They were married in Holy Matrimony on June 29,1951 and from this came one son, John William Howard, Jr. (known to everyone as "Pig"). Carrie became a faithful member of the Leadenhall Baptist Church on May 5th, 1979 Under the leadership of the late Dr. Eddie R. Wilson, Jr. She joined the Angels of Mercy Nurses Unit and took her duties seriously. She was known to walk the aisles of the church every time her nephew-in-law, Buddy, would sing "I'm Blessed", and that was considered her marching song. Carrie was well-loved, by many family and friends. She was known to speak her mind and did not take any stuff from anybody. Anyone who knew Carrie knew she would fight to the end for her "Pig" and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories: her son, John William Howard, Jr.; two granddaughters, Yumika M. Howard and Yumea M. Howard; two great grandchildren, Aniyjah M. Williamson (Ny-Ny) and Jaxen M. Coleman; three sisters, Rosa Blue, Odessa Webb and Alice Davenport; one brother, Charlie Stewart; one daughter-in-law, Yolanda M. Turner ("Puddney"); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
