Carrie Bell Jackson, daughter of the late John and Cora Hudson, was born on March 14, 1925 in St. Charles, South Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, October 28, 2007, after a lenghy illness. Carrie Jackson resided in Timmonsville, South Carolina until the age of thirteen when she met and married the late Julian Jackson. The couple remained married for forty-nine consecutive years until Julian's death in November 1987. From this union five daughters were born: Ruby Mae Johnson, of Baltimore, MD; the late Willie Mae Melton formerly of Paterson, NJ; Easter Mae Jackson, of Baltimore, MD; Lillie Bell Anderson, of Baltimore, MD; and Estelle Peterson, of Timmonsville, SC. After moving to Baltimore, MD, Carrie became and remained a faithful member of the Revelation Baptist Church until her illness confined her to Church Home Nursing Center and later to Future Care Nursing Center where she remained until her death. Born into a family of thirteen children, leaves to mourn: one remaining brother, Mr. James Hudson of South Carolina. Affectionately known as ''Granny,'' Carrie leaves to mourn twenty grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
