Carrie Lee Jones was born January 2, 1933 in Kingstree,South Carolina to the late Nettie Chandler and John McFadden. Carrie departed this life abruptly on May 11, 2020.
In 1940 she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where she receivedher education.
Carrie later found employment in domestic work while caring for her family. Carrie married the late Joseph Jones and from that unionthree children, the late James McFadden, Carvella Tomlin, andJoseph Jones Jr. After 40 years of domestic workand home health she retired.
Carrie was baptized and was atrue servant of the Lord. She worshiped at Davis MemorialA. M. E.Church where she servedonthechoirand usherboard for 30 plus years.Carrieloved her church familyasher own and did any and everything she could to show her appreciation. She was always on the go trying to lend a hand. Helping others was truly her passion.
Carrie loved to travel, she enjoyed vacation time spent with Pee Wee,Howie, Duke and Angie. She also enjoyed doing for and being with the great grands especially "her Nee-Nee". Carrie wanted the best for the whole family and when they messed up she would say, "take it to the Lord in prayer". Carrie supported and raised several generations from her own children, to the great-grandchildren.
Carrie was preceded in death by William "Pee-Wee"Franklin spouse;Eugeana"Peanut" Tomlin granddaughter; Carrie Lee McFaddengreat-granddaughter; and a host of other family members.
Carrie leaves cherish: one niece Buttercup; Timothy Colvin, Delores Smith, David/Dave McFadden, Cherie Jones, grandchildren; Dominique Colvin, Alisha Mathews,Anisha Matthews, Takera Taylor,Shonta' Matthews, CarvellaMcFadden, Danielle Colvin, Ny Parker, Jasmine/Justina Colvin, great-grandchildren; and a host of other great-great grandchildren.
