Obituary

Catherine Taylor who was also known by her family and
loved ones as "Big Mama", departed this life peacefully on
January 4, 2018 at Future Care. Catherine was born on
April 15, 1921 in Fort Mill South, Carolina to the late Ray
Patterson and Pearlie Steele.

Catherine moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she worked
at Dominos Sugar Finery. She later became employed at
Montebello State Hospital where she worked for 19 years
before retiring in May of 1982.

Catherine "Big Mama" had a passion for cooking and people
and she loved to bring the two together. She hosted family
events and holidays. Everyone looked forward to going to
"Big Mamas" house.

Catherine also loved the Lord and her church. She gave her
life to Christ at an early age and when she came to Baltimore
she joined Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion where she
remained a faithful member until her demise. She was
also a member of many ministries.

Catherine was a kind and gentle soul who spread love
and wisdom wherever she went, she will truly be missed.
She was 96 years old.

Catherine was preceded in death by her first husband,
McCory Click and her second husband, Proctor L. Taylor.

Catherine is survived by: three grandsons, Allen Taylor,
Michael Taylor and Retuis Taylor Jr.; eight grands and two
great grands; three sisters, Pearlie Mae Green, Lottie Camp
and Eldora Stewart; one brother, Bobby Potts and sister-in-law,
Sandy Potts; a family friend who cared for her when her health
declined Rosetta "Niecey" Emmanual and a host of nieces,
nephews, family and friends.
