February 6, 1949 – March 10, 2018
CELESTINE LARUE PARKER, was born February 6, 1949
to the late Emma Elizabeth Harris and William Frisby in
Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Baltimore City Public
Schools where she completed and received her High
School Diploma. She departed this life on March 10,2018.
Celestine accepted and received Jesus Christ as her Lord
and Savior at an early age. She loved to tell the story of
how she heard the voice of Jesus while outside hanging
clothes. That voice led her to join First Baptist Church in
Cherry Hill. She later joined Cherry Hill United Methodist
Church where she continued to serve until God called her
home. Celestine loved working in her church. She
ministered on the sanctuary choir, taught as a Sunday
school teacher and served on the culinary ministry just to
name a few.
In 1967, she met and later married the love of her life
Edward Earl Parker. In this union they welcomed three beautiful children.
Celestine worked for many years as a head start teacher
and daycare provider. She received numerous
certifications in childcare development. She was an avid
member of the Grand Parents Committee
and an active member of the Swinging Seniors, where
she enjoyed trips, arts and crafts and old-fashion
quality time. Celestine also enjoyed spending time with
her family, dancing, singing karaoke and traveling.
"Mama" as she was called by many, was affectionately
known for her beautiful smile, warm hugs and heart felt
prayers.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward
Earl Parker; son Edward Earl Parker Jr., and
brother Larry Harris.
Celestine leaves to cherish her memory, daughter
Sharon Campbell (Bruce); son Brian Parker Sr.
(Teara); adopted son Edmund Graves (Dawn); three granddaughters ShaKeshia, ShaKorya and Briana; one
grandson Brian Jr.; one great grandson Kahlek; one
adopted grandson Desmund; three sisters Gloria, Ivy
and Katrena; seven brothers Ronald, Marvin,
Bernard (Diane), Eric (Patsy),
Winston (Elloree), Melvin and Jerome; two half-sisters
Paula and Katherine (Ronald); six half brothers
John, Randy, Mark, Charles (Marsha), Cliff and Kurney;
one special brother-in-law Clyde; three sister-in-Iaw's
Olga Mae, Mildred, and Harriet; one aunt Gloria Lee;
one uncle David; and a host of other nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends
