Obituary

Charlee Porter,  daughter of the late Charles & Odessa McDonald  was born  in  Laurinburg,  NC on  January  8,
1935.  Charlee  entered  her  eternal  rest  peacefully  on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
She received  her education  in  the Laurinburg  County School District. She worked many years as a private duty nurse's assistant. She was also a dedicated member of the Eastern  Stars.  Charlee was a devoted  foster parent for over 30 years with Family and Children Services doing foster care.  She adopted  4  children  and  loved  many more. She also loved to travel.
Charlee joined  New Horizon  Baptist Church  under the leadership  of the late Rev.  Dr.  Claude W.  Lambert in 1988. She was a faithful member and a dedicated Senior
Usher and was Usher of the Year in 2010.
Charlee leaves to  celebrate the legacy  of her life her children: Mary  (John) Howard,  Luther Porter,  Grace (Wardell) Lester,  Sharon  Porter,  Rene (Lelia) Jenkins, William (Tia) Edison, Shawn (Morgan)Porter and Travon Porter: preceded her in death by Mack and Larry Porter; 29  grandchildren,  31  great-grandchildren,  her road dawg  nephew William McBride,  two  long  life friends: Maple Turner & Phyllis Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
