Obituary

Charles Dorrian Brothers, beloved son of Charles L. Brothers and Sharon Barksdale, was born on Tuesday, December 28, 1993, at Mercy Hospital. He departed this life suddenly on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Charles received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He later enrolled in Job Corps to learn a trade, where he discovered his passion for cooking and earned his ServSafe Certificate. After leaving Job Corps, Charles worked various cooking positions and took on odd jobs along the way. Determined to complete his education, he enrolled in and fulfilled all requirements to receive his Maryland State General Education Diploma (GED), an accomplishment of which he was extremely proud.

As a child, Charles loved sports and could often be found outside playing football and basketball. As his passion for cooking grew, he would playfully critique his mother's use of spices, explaining what he would have done differently to enhance the flavor. These moments brought laughter and created many fond memories. At a young age he became life long friends with Charles Hull and Darius Bethea. Sadly a link in their chain has been removed.

Charles truly loved his family. His greatest accomplishment was being the proud father of his three daughters, whom he adored.

Charles leaves to cherish his loving memory his father, Charles Brothers; his mother, Sharon Barksdale; his three daughters, Amaya, Madison, and Cerenitee; his brother, ~ Anthony Warfield, with whom he shared a very special bond; and his sister, Keiria Brothers. He is also survived by his grandmother, Paulette Alderman, with whom he shared a special relationship; his grandfather, George Barksdale (Annie); six uncles— Bryant Wyatt (Charie), George Barksdale (Terri), Talmadge Bennett, Ebony Riley (Keisha), William Henson, and James Brothers; five aunts—Catrina Seibles (Derek), Lavelle Nipper (Zachary), Loletha Simmons, Elnora McGraw, and Sunnetta Brothers; two nieces Kalilah and Amorah; a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a very special person who watched him grow from a boy into a man, Mr. Anthony. Charles was loved by so many and will be truly missed.
