Obituary

Charles H. Carter was born ion Baltimore, Maryland on June 29, 1932, to the late Henry Carter and Rosetta Lemons. He departed this life on February 17, 2012 at Maryland general Hospital after a lengthy illness. Charles, known to many as "Pop Charles" or "Pete", attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. He was employed for many years at Crownsville State Hospital where his love and profession was teaching upholstering. Throughout his life he enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends, photography, visiting casinos, and baking his scrumptious cakes. Charles met the love of his life Dorothy Mae Reason in 1980 and God joined them in Holy Matrimony in 1995. Pop Charles was a loving, humble man 9of God. He was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory; his loving and devoted wife Dorothy Carter; two loving sons; Roger and Glenn Carter; one step daughter, Yvette Vass-Arrington, two step sons Harold and Bernard Young; one -daughter-in-law Janet Young; one son-in-law Willie Arrington, an adopted son Reginald Stroud, a close friend Melvin Davis of many years; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
