Obituary

Charles Henry Gasque, known to his family and friends as "Duke", a nickname given to him by his brother Yogi, transitioned on January 29, 2020. His family and friends would like to remember the gift of life that was given to him.

Duke was born on January 11, 1962, to Bernice Jordan and the late Baker Gasque Sr.. Duke had an infectious personality. He made friends wherever he went. He had a different kind of love for his children and family that will always be remembered. He was the uncle and grandfather that would make the smallest things into the greatest things.

Duke loved and cherished his mother. He could be heard saying "Hey Ma!", before his foot crossed the door threshold.

He received his education in the Baltimore City School System. He was employed with the state for a short period and later gained employment with Joe's Constuction Company.

As a little boy, Duke enjoyed playing with army men and watching the television show Dick Tracy, wich earned him the second nickname "Tracy"; a name that only his mother and Aunt Nita called him. He was a big sports fan, not only watching it on T.V., but also showing exceptional skills of his own on the basketball court.

He leaves behind a large family circle that will cherish so many memories with him, they include: his mother, Bernice Jordan; brother, Andre Gasque Jr; daughters, Tamika Gasque - Mouzon and Juana Gasque; sons, Charles Gasque Jr., Chaz Gasque and Tavon Gasque; son "in-love" Maurice Mouzon; Grandchildren, Maurice, Markia and Marquis Mouzon, Logan, Ryan, Lionel and Caiden Gasque, Tavon Jr. and Kaniya Gasque and one great-grandchild, Makayla Jones. He leaves behind his Aunt, Juanita Diggs, Uncle Sylvester, and Aunt "in-love" Joyce Jordan. Nephew, Rodney Gasque III, and Raffell Gasque. Great Niece, Quandara Gasque, Niece "in-love" Quanetta Gasque and God-Brother, Alonzo Smith.

Family that has preceded him in transition, Stepfather, Albert Johnson, Uncles, Herman Jordan and Willie Jordan, Aunts, Nellie McPhill, Johnnie Mae, and Elaine Jordan.

He also leaves behind close friends and great mothers to his children, Antoinette Anderson, Sandy Harvin, and Dionne Graves, devoted friend, Shawnna, a host of male and female cousins that were more like sisters and brothers and homeboys that were as close to him as family.
