Charles Haynes
was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 9, 1938
to the late Annie Lee Sloan and Reuben Thomas Haynes. He entered
into eternal rest on January 13,2018.
He attended local public schools in Duvall County, Florida.
He was a star football player in high school. Charles received
his diploma from Mathew W. Gilbert High School. He did not stop
there, he excelled in carpentry and mechanics. He later studied and
received his masters in theology. He also was the co-founder of
Haynes Towing Automotive Repair. He had many businesses,
club owner, chicken and ribs joint, construction, worldwide
sandblasting, longshoreman, merchant marine, black panther party,
Nation of Islam (FOI), Journey man, and continued seeker of
knowledge.
He later married the late Ernestine Grant still at age 16 through their
union they created Launna and Lawanna Haynes. He left Jacksonville
at the age of 25. Him and a childhood friend Joe Ritley left Jacksonville
heading to Baltimore, MD seeking work and opportunity at the
Baltimore Shipyard. He then joined the Masonic Brother Hood
where he advanced quickly and graduated to 33rd degree; the
highest office offered in the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. At this time
he needed someone to share his many life accomplishments with.
On June 2, 1974 he married the late Shari N. Chase from their union
they created Justin and Jason Haynes.
He is preceded in death by: (Dad) Reuben T. Haynes, (Mom) Annie Lee
Sloan, Ernestine Corialan, Shari N. Haynes, (Daughter) Launna Shabann,
(Son) Kenneth Haynes (grandson) Micheal Tory Christopher, Helen
Brown Haynes.
