IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Powell,
Jr.
July 28, 1966 – January 22, 2021
Charles E. Powell Jr. affectionately known as Jr, Black, Charley Black, Charley Baltimore, and Black Face was born on July 28, 1966 to Charles E. Powell Sr. and Zenola Powell which proceeded him in death.
He was born and raised in the Bronx NY, at Lincoln Hospital where he attended the New York City public school systems. His favorite school was CJHS 145X where he made long lasting friendships. He lived on the West Side of the BX and grew up at 1200 College Avenue in the Bronx, NY where he was tremendously loved by the block which became family.
In 1990 he moved to Baltimore, MD with friends and he continued to establish many fond and long-lasting relationships. These friendships were based on love, support, and brotherhood. Black also had many loving relationships with special individuals who are mourning his loss today.
To know Black is/was to love him, he was very charismatic, funny, an easy listener, and kept you laughing with his stories. He was a father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, best friend and protector who did not play about his family. He loved to listen to music and had a very distinctive walk, when he came diddy boppin' down the street you definitely knew it was Black. He had a love of fashion and always kept his NY swag even though he started calling sneakers tennis.
This is a great loss for everyone who loved him and he was loved by many. He will be especially missed by his sisters, as Black would say "from the womb to the tomb sisters".
We'll see you again Big Brother
He leaves to mourn:two daughters, Iosha and Fallin; two sisters, Zenola II and Tamika; three nieces, Dannaqa, La'mya, Morgan; one great niece, Victorious and a host of aunts, uncles, cousin, friends, and his beloved hood families from New York to Baltim
