Charles Lemon, son of Helen Byas Peterson and the late Earl Lemon, was born on August 1, 1957 in Summerton, South Carolina. He was reared by the late Charlie and Elizabeth Lemon. He departed this life on June 22, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

He received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County, South Carolina graduating from Manning High School Class of 1977.

He received his religious training in his home and at the Mt. Zion AME Church in Davis Station, South Carolina. Upon moving to Baltimore, he joined Ebenezer AME Church and later moved his membership to John Wesley UMC until his passing. He was an active member of the usher's ministry at both churches, where he loved being a door keeper for the Lord.

Charles married Daisy McFadden May 3, 1990. Together they reared four children, Charles, Tineka, E'Elvin and Chardeze.

Charles was a family man. He loved his devoted and loving wife, children and grandchildren. His grandchildren, Da'Quan, Abriel, Zaniyah and Kennedy held a special place in his heart. He was a loving and dedicated son to his mother, Helen. When spending time with his family especially his cousins, he always let it be known that he was the oldest grandchild.

He was a people's person, the life of the party. He loved oldies but goodies music, cooking on the grill and spending time with family and friends. Charles played basketball in high school and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
