Obituary

Charles Phillip Noel, Sr son of the late Julia Noel and the late William I. blackwell, Sr. was born on July 27, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. His soul took flight on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. After high school he entered the United States Army where he became a trainer in several areas, but his main course was training paratroopers. After leaving the military he was employed at Bethleham Steel. The Park Heights Community Corporation and the Freestate Steel Company from which he retired from in 2006. Charles was a member of the Masonic Masons. Charles met and married Samella Turner and out of this union one son was born, Charles Jr. They later divorced and then he married Lizzie Century. Charles, who was fondly called "Dinky" by family and friends. Dinky was very quiet, but ambitious in life. He collected old, great singers on 45 records. He loved playing softball, looking at educational books, National Geographic and researching the encyclopedia. Dinky also had a love for comic books and trains. He never missed a family gathering, always showed support to his younger family members. If you ever met him, you would have a lasting impression of something he said or did or just the way he laughed. Charles gave his life to Christ at New Life Inspirationl Church in 2001. He later jioned Empowerment Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2009. During his lengthy illness, Charles kept the faith until his demise. Preceding him in death are two sisters, Ella Johnson and Gladys Blake; nine brothers, William, Stanley, Paul, Robert, Herman, David, Albert, Marvin and Cornelius. To know Charles was to love him. Charles leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Lizzie Noel; sons Charles Jr. and Glen; daughter Lisa; two granddaughters, Stacey ad Ashley; daughter-in-law; Terry; son-in-law, Charles; three great-grandchildren, Jayla, Jaylin and Carson; five sisters, Bertha, Esther, Sylvia, Gloria and Doris; three brothers, William, Thomas and John; seven sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; ad a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
