Obituary

CHARLES NATHANIEL SPANN SR, affectionately known as Bubbles, son of the late Henry Corbett and Rosa Spann on April 28, 1950, in Sumpter, North Carolina. He suddenly departed this life on
June 21, 2022.
Bubbles grew up in South Baltimore (Pigtown) where he attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Southern High
School. Shortly after, he joined the military serving in the Marine Corps. Some years later he met the love of his life Thelma Clark who preceded him in death. Through this union, Charles Nathanial Spann Jr. was born.
He would later gain employment at the Baltimore City Department of Recreation retiring after 24 years of service. Charles loved his job. He
especially loved collecting " trinkets", reading his newspapers, and books. Bubbles was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also loved music, especially The O'jays and Mariah Carey.
Bubbles had a passion for cooking. One of his specialties was boiled chicken, rice and boiled eggs, which he often cooked for his siblings
and family. We all loved it and still try to mimic it. Bubbles made friends wherever he went. He was known for his nurturing, caring, and giving spirit, listening ear, and most importantly spending time
with his Thelma". Side by side, never far apart, he was a devoted partner. They were known as "Bubbles and Thelma" to all who knew
them.
He leaves to mourn his children, Charles Spann Jr, Anishia Clark, and Ronald Clark Jr; His siblings, Joseph Spann, Clarence Spann,
