Cheryl R. Dorsey, daughter of the late Alexander and Brenda Dorsey was born on October 5, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life unexpectedly on September 22, 2016.

She received her education from Baltimore City Public Schools and Baltimore City Community College. Afterwards she became employed with High Performance Vinyl Replacement Windows for more than 25 years until the business closed its doors. After those years of service she became employed with Baltimore City Public Schools in the Food and Nutrition Department as a Cafeteria Manager until her untimely death.

Cheryl made numerous friends wherever she went. Her infectious smile, her loud and contagious laughter always brightened a room with her spontaneous jokes. She had a deep love for her family, friends, the students she encountered, music, china and art.

She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Cheryl was always who she was and a true friend to all she called friends.

Cheryl had four brothers who preceded her in death Lionel, Pierre, Jamal and Earl Dorsey.

She leaves to mourn: one son, Justin; her partner, Denise Mitchell; extended daughters, Victoria and Christina Mitchell; four sisters, Nichelle Dorsey, Cynthia Clayborn (Moses), Johnetta Richardson, and Carolyn Dorsey; three brothers, Sherwood, Douglass (Yvette) and Calvin Dorsey; three uncles, Charles Dorsey, Earl (Midge) Dorsey, and Harold Carey; three aunts, Dorothy Clayborn, Rosalie McNair, and Hilda Green-Weaver; two close friends, Ivory Howard and Cheryl Saunders; a surrogate mother, Gloria Dorsey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God Children, adopted children, adopted sistersibrothers, family and friends.
