Choe In Suk was born May 5th, 1944 in Seoul, Korea. She met Sargent James McKnight while he was
serving his term for the US Army. They got married in Korea and had their first child James McKnight, Jr. in 1967. They moved to California in 1972, and had their second child Juanita, in 1974.
In 1976 they moved to Baltimore, MD. Her last daughter Choe McKnight was born in 1977. Choe worked at a cheese factory for many years. She collected and saved to open up her first business in 1987 which was a corner grocery store. She owned several businesses in her lifetime including restaurants and decided to retire in 2006. After retirement she would work to stay busy at neighborhood stores. "Peggy" was her nickname that everyone called her. She enjoyed playing cards, Keno, Bingo scratch offs, cooking Korean food for her family, going to Druid Hill Park, traveling to Korea, taking walks, going to H-Mart, getting her hair cut and spending time with her family.
Peggy was a very strong person and never cried in front of her kids. On the 22nd of July, she was diagnosed after falling with lung cancer that spread throughout her brain. She stayed strong hiding her pain. The day of her passing was on Friday 8/26/22. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her children, James McKnight, Jr., Juanita McKnight, and Choe McKnight. Grandchildren, Trey McKnight, Sharde Allen Wilkens, Jajuan Allen, Jazmine Spencer, Brandon Brown, Great Grandchildren, Oliver, River, Nigel and Nyjae.
