School in 1976.

Lynn was baptized in the Christian faith at an early age and loved

to Praise the Lord, our God. She was a longtime member of New

Metropolitan Baptist Church and Shiloh Baptist Church in Edgemere,

Maryland. She and her son Emmanuel were also members of the

Transformation Church of Baltimore on Route 40.

She frequently enjoyed visiting other churches throughout her lifetime

of living and that was a joy for her.

Lynn attended Norfolk State College in 1976 as a Communications

Major. In 1978, she attended Towson State University to continue her

studies in Mass Communications/Radio and TV. She earned her AA

Degree at Baltimore City Community College in 1980.

Lynn signed up for classes at Baltimore Sojourner College and took

a lot of courses with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Lynn began working at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Washington

D.C in 1981. The Director at the time was William H. Webster. Her

position was as a data transcriber. In 1983, she be-came a tour guide

at the DOJ. This position of giving Congressional and family tours

afforded her the opportunity to meet lots of people from all over the

world.

She joined the ranks as a FedEx employee in 1988. She worked at the

call center in Columbia, Maryland. She trained with her co-worker

Juliet, they were a top notch team of Customer Service Agents. They

earned great pay and stock options while working with FedEx.

Lynn married Michael Barnes in 1993 and was blessed in 1994 with

her handsome son, Emmanuel Khairi Imani Barnes.

She relocated to the FedEx in Roanoke Virginia, until 1995. She later

went to a new FedEx facility in Landover, Maryland, relocating there

in the ground operations department.

Lynn also worked as a Census Data Collector at the U.S. Census Bureau

in Baltimore, Maryland from May 2010 to July 2010.

She took Culinary classes in 2019 through the Baltimore services program with 14 other women. They all received the Serve Safe certificate within six months of graduating the program.

Lynn had 25 years of work in the Customer Service Field. She

possessed excellent conflict resolution and great people skills. She was

very diplomatic and tactful with professionals and non-professionals

at all levels.

She was very analytical and versatile, and those traits were instilled

in her only son, Emmanuel. She had a keen intuition, and strong

interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

She provided spirits of trust and enthusiasm so that her business

transactions occurred harmoniously.

She loved people in general, her family, and especially her parents. She

helped and took care of her father as much as she could her entire life.

As the years went on Lynn found a passion to help her child Emmanuel

while he was in school. This led her to become a teacher's aide/

substitute teacher in the Baltimore City Public School system from

2006-2009, as well as a dedicated Crossing Guard for Baltimore City

Department of Transportation Authority and at St. Agnes School

through the years of her career.

Lynn loved the beach. She also loved vegetables, crabs and organic

foods, which were her favorite.

She loved yellow roses, beautiful bright colors, nature, the sunrises and

the sunsets. She knew how to put an outfit together to include hair

do, lipstick, and nail polish. The most special was the family trips to

Ocean City, Maryland enjoying the Chesapeake Bay and seafood. The

Arizona vacation was full of exploring and touring. Of course, Lynn

lit up with the sounds of music which included gospel, R&B and soul.

Prince was her favorite with his movies and concerts.
