Clarence Jerome Payne
transitioned to his eternal resting place on
September 4,2018. Born to the late Fay E. Payne and
Doye P. Payne on August 10, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Clarence, affectionately known as Jerome, received his education
in the Baltimore City Public School System. Shortly after
graduating from high school, Jerome enlisted in the Coast Guard.
After receiving an discharge, he enrolled in RETS Technical Institute.
He became HV certified. Besides making an honest living, it honored
him to help and family make repairs in their homes. Jerome was
excellent in computing numbers.
As a young man, Jerome, played on a football league at Easterwood
Park in Baltimore, Maryland. Jerome loved to fish and often went
on fishing trips. His favorite meal was fried chicken, mashed potatoes
with gravy, and finished off with an apple turnover and chocolate
chip cookie.
Jerome was the proud father of one daughter, Kaira Payne. He
was elated when he became a grandfather to Gisele Ford in
May of 2017.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis A. Hall.
Jerome leaves to mourn: daughter, Kaira Payne; granddaughter,
Gisele Ford; two sisters, Doris Pollard and Janet Hall; brother,
Doye Payne. He also leaves to mourn: two nieces, Fay Pollard and
Breeta White; two nephews, Kevin Pollard and Girard Hall, and
a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
