Reflection of Life
Clarence Leo Ross, Sr., youngest son of the late Mary E. and William L. Ross, was born on February 27, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Clarence was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. At 20 years old, Clarence entered the U.S. Army. He served honorably for two years during the Korean conflict achieving the rank of Sergeant. Clarence went on to serve 32 years of federal service finally retiring in December of 1997 from the Department of Navy at Fort Meade, Maryland.
Clarence was an industrious and skilled craftsman. After retiring from federal service, he worked with his sons, Clarence, Jr. and James, taking on numerous home improvement endeavors. He was an avid reader, lover of jazz music, and a watcher of old western shows. He had an infectious sense of humor and a joyous smile that will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memories his dedicated wife, Thelma Fleming-Ross, their sons and daughters: Kevin Fleming (Theresa), Reginald Fleming, Ronald Fleming, preceded in death Kelly Fleming, and Keisha Fleming Mills (Kenneth); Clarence L. Ross, Jr. (Gloria), Karen Ross Fowler (Nathaniel), James L. Ross, and Shawn A. Ross; well over 13 grandchildren, an abundance of great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
