Clellen Clifton, beloved son of the late Joseph Simon and Lenora Clifton was born May 4, 1948 in franklin, North Carolia. He departed this life on October 17, 2009. "Smook" as he was affectionately known to all was deducated in the Baltimore city Public schools graduating from Douglas High School. "Smook" accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized on October 26, 2003 at Nazarene Baptist Church. He was employed at the Rosewood Center and Baltimore City Sanitation Department. Later he became a freelance Photographer with his brother, "Baldy." "Smook" was a "Big Lovable Teddy Bear." He was loved by all. He enjoyed gathering with family remembering the good old days. He never had children of his own, he enjoyed spending quality time with his many nieces and nephews. "Smook" helped his late sister, "Tootie" to raise her son, Earl and a special bond was formed. "Smook's" favorite past times were playing cards, family board games and watching TV especially old western. He liked to congregate with his neighborhood friends at the laundry mat and shoot the breeze. What he really enjoyed was making fried chicken and Gree-Gree for his baby brothers. He ws preceded in death by histwoo sisters, Lillie Mae and Belinda; niece, Janelle and great niece, Angel. He leaves to cherish his memory; five brothers Joseph Patricia, Calvin, Chauncey Princess, Thurston Janice and Michael Denise; one sister, Bonnie Parham Calvin; one godsisters, gloria Thompson; five aunts; five uncles, twenty-one nieces and nephews, thirty eight great nieces and nephews four great great nieces and nephews a host of cousin and many many friends.
