Clifton E. Montgomery, son of Annie D. Montgomery and the late Leroy Montgomery, was born January 3, 1956. He was called home by his Heavenly Father on March 22,2014 after a lengthy illness. "Clif. " as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was educated in the Howard County Public school system and graduatedfrom Howard High School in Columbia, Maryland in June, 1974. From a young child, Clif displayed the gift of an inquisitive and mechanical mind. He was able to figure out how things worked, what was wrong and how to fIX them. He particularly loved cars and trucks. He built model cars as a young boy; and learned to repair cars long before he could drive one. After completing high school he enrolled in the Lincoln Technical Institute to pursue his dream of opening his own auto repair shop. Once certified, he became a licensed mechanic and opened his own full service shop while still in his early 20's. Clif also had an adventurous spirit; and truck drivingfulfilled his need to explore. He could give "on the spot" directions to almost anywhere in the country. He drove big rigs all over the country covering 46 states, Mexico and Canada; and also owned and operated a tow truck and a car repossession business. When he could no longer repair cars or drive trucks, he became a licensed cab driver. During the later stages of his illness he was determined not to give in; and remained active in the things he loved. . When he became unable to do the repair work himself, he gave advice to anyone having car problems. As a young man, Clif was a member of First Christian Community Church in Jessup, Maryland and recently rededicated his life to Christ. Clif was also an avid reader and was well versed on many topics. He had a special charm about him and if you ever met him, you would never forget him. Cherishing the memories of his life are his loving and devoted daughter, Kelly; his mother, Annie D.
