Obituary

Clyde Milton Boyd, was born in Camden, South Carolina on July 12, 1922. He was the third son among 5 siblings born to the late Willie Estelle Williams Boyd and Wayman Boyd. Clyde transitioned from this life on October 2, 2014. Clyde received his education in South Carolina before moving with his family to Baltimore, Maryland. After serving his country in the US Army, Clyde established roots in Baltimore, purchasing and maintaining a home. During his life, Clyde had several occupations, often maintaining multiple jobs at a time. He worked for the Coca Cola Bottling Company for a number of years, until his tenure as the manger of a large downtown parking facility, from which he retired 30 years ago. Upon retiring, Clyde became a helpful hand and caregiver to family and friends. Always, a giving person he was the primary caregiver for his mother until her transition, and was readily available to provide assistance to anyone in need. For enjoyment, Clyde loved to gamble, often making trips to Delaware Park and Atlantic City to try his hands at the slots. He made sure his daily Maryland Lottery, Mid-Day and Evening numbers were submitted for the week. Clyde also looked forward to attending the Gladiators annual Bu'll Roast to which he often treated his nieces, making it a family outing. Clyde especially enjoyed sports of all kinds-from attending the stadium games of the Baltimore Colts and the Baltimore Orioles, to crouching in front of the television for other sporting events until "the TV began watching him". Preceding him in death are his siblings: Willie May Boyd (J.D.) Alston, Arthur (Clarice)Boyd, John (Stella) Boyd, and Nathaniel (Rose) Boyd. Left to cherish his memory are brother, Clarence (Phyllis) Boyd; former wife, Virginia Boyd; "son-in-love", Charles Cager, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews and friends.
