Obituary

Clyde Lester Fowlkes was born on May 3, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the second son of Willie Luvenia and the late Raymond Isaac Fowkles, Sr. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Carroll Park High School. After a long battle, he succumbed to his ailment at Good Samaritan Hospital on Wednesday, February 22nd. Clyde had a fighting spirit and he put up a good fight throughout his illness. Clyde loved music and loved to sing. He loved a lot of the groups from the 70's like the Delfonics, Chi-Lites, Blue Magic and the Dells and mimicked their sound with a silver tenor voice even in his sleep. some of his favorite artists were Sam Cooke, Al Green and James brown. Clyde had a hearty laugh and a broad warm smile. He met Dana Epps and they dated and married on August 14, 1997. There were no children born from this union. He also loved to cook and had a hearty appetite. As a child, he learned to clean fish and cut-up chickens. Clyde was good at working with his heads and when he was a child he was very creative by making toys for his siblings. Clyde held may jobs working in restaurants and warehouses, but most enjoyed working with food until he was unable to continue to work. Happy times for Clyde were family gatherings. One of the most memorable times for Clyde was the recent joint celebration recognizing his 50th birthday and his brother Owen's retirement party in 2011, Clyde was most surprised and was looking forward to his next birthday. Clyde had many friends and was well loved and will be truly missed. Clyde had two brothers that preceded him in death, Paul M. Fowlkes deceased and Raymond I. Fowlkes Jr. deceased. He leaves behind cherished memories with his mother, Willie L. Fowlkes; 3 brothers Lloyd H. Fowkles, Frederick, Md.; Owen H. Fowlkes, Abingdon, Md.; and Ellden N. Fowlkes, Oceanside, Ca.; 3 sisters, Karen C. Fowlkes-Wing; Janmie S. Fowlkes; and Betty d. Sye; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronald Sye and Anthony wing; 1 sister-in-law, Samuella Lee- Fowlkes, Abingdon, Md.; 1 ex-wife Dana Fowlkes- Dudley, Essex, Md, Md.; 1 great aunt Lucille Anderson; 5 aunts, Elizabeth Johnson; Magaline Brown; Angeling Boyd; Mary Jean Dandridge, Detriot, Mi.; Joan Harmon, Cape May, NJ.; 3uncles victor W. Daniels, Marion Brown; Donald Boyd; 5 nieces, Shavawn e. Fowlkes, Hagerstown, Md.; Lorie Fowlkes, Fredrick, Md.; Takiara Fowlkes, Abingdon, Md.; Ronnisha Sye and Rene Parks; 2 nphews, Garreth A. Parks, Jr. and Kalin A. Fowlkes, Abingdon, Md.; 2 great-nephews, Nasir M. Jackson and a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
