COKEYA ANGELA OWENS, was the fourth of eleven children born to Rosalyn Griffin and Cubby Owens, Sr. on July 21, 1983. Okeya was called to rest on October 28, 2005 after a short illiness. Cokeya was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Baltimore City Schools. Graduated from Southern Senior High School in June of 2003, where she received her high school diploma. Cokeya was a very loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend. For the brief moments that they shared together, she adored her daughter, Quan Nairer. Cokeya was a loving young lady, to know her was to love her. Cokeya enjoyed music, dancing and she was a very out spoken person and most of all she served her Lord Jesus Christ. Those left to cherish her memories: Her parents Rosalyn Griffin and Cubby Owens, Sr., one daughter, Quan Bairer Johnson, seven sisters: Shwanquana, Rosalyn, Cinda, Shawton, Shawnnay,Shawmeka, and Rykenda Owens, three brothers: Cubby Jr., Roland, and Sharnd Owens. Two nieces: Quanjaya, and Nyeshay, one nephew: Cubby 3rd. Two siblings and two grandmothers who preceded in death, Charlene Griffin and Cinda Owens, also one uncle Lee Owens, Jr. one cousin Kentral Dodd, two grandfathers: Roland Griffin and Lee Owens, two step-grandmothers: Elease Griffin and Louise Owens. Five uncles: Walter and William Anthony, Maurice Walker and Aurelius James, seven aunts: Chandra Walker,Michelle Dodd, Amelia Lawson, Leaunette Griffin, Wanda Anthony, Ann James and Shauntonia Turner. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A special friend and father of her baby Douglas Johnson. Four best friends: Tamala, Jessica, Mymy, Ambba. One friend who preceded her in death Erica Brown.
