Bowser
March 8, 1932 – January 17, 2021
Cora Minnie Bowser affectionately known as "Sista" by many, the daughter of the late Wallace and Maggie McCrory, departed this life and entered the enteral presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 17th, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Cora was one of the fourteen children from the union of Wallace and Maggie McCrory. Brothers, Connell, Rye, Henry, Charlie, Ulyssess, Andrew aka Norman, Wylie and Sisters, Willamae, Annie Ruth, Betty, Helen, Marion, and Ellarene proceeded her in death.
Cora was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina on March 8th, 1932 and at an early age her family moved to Baltimore, MD. She received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools. Cora was employed with Camp Manufacturing Company for 18 years and introduced her companyiesproducts on the "Buddy Dean Show" and later had the opportunity to dance on the show. She was an avid dance who loved and mastered the "Cha Cha" and many other dances. Cora also worked at the City of Baltimore for 26 years as a custodian and shower attendant at Southwestern High School. It was here that she impacted many children's lives and was loved dearly by the staff and children.
Cora was married to Howard Robert Bowser and from that union came four children Linda, Howard Jr "Chicken" (who preceded her in death), Cathy Williams (Chris Williams) and Elise "Mopsey". .Cora also mothered and raised her nephews James McCrory and Frank Simpkins.
She accepted the Lord Jesus and received her religious training at Morning Star Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and served on the missionary board. In her later years she took the charge to share her faith and was very quick to give you her testimony.
Cora was a missionary at heart, before even joining the missionary board at church she faithfully visited the sick in hospitals, nursing homes and cared for the elderly. She loved family and was always willing to give a helping hand. She was a faithful friend, sibling, and daughter. She comforted those who mourned, provided shelter for the homeless, and fed the hungry. Cora was also known to be an encourager, and she was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She will loving be remembered in everyone's heart.
Cora will leave to cherish her memory by her three daughters Linda, Cathy, and Elise as well as her nephews she raised, Jimmy and Mookie. One Son in law, Willie "Chris Williams". Four sister in –laws, Betty, Johnnie Ruth, Cynthia and Joyce. Nine grandchildren, Tia, Jackie, Tyra, Daryl, Tavin, Isstar, Christal, Shakean, and Bria. Seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and her very best-friend Cecelia Muldrow.
