Costella Kent, was born September 12, 1937. She departed this life after a brief illness on March 8, 2015. She was the 4th child of Harvey and Estelle Timpson, sister to Leonard, Joe and Margaret who has preceded her in death. Costella graduated from Carver Vocational Senior High School. She went to New York, got a job at the infamous "Theresa Hotel ", where she met Redd Foxx, Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway and a host of entertainers. Back then the "Theresa Hotel" was black folks "Holiday Inn". She soon became homesick, came home and met and married Charles S. Kent this union produced two children, Carl and Carlisa Kent. She later met Uncle Watter who became her life partner. Costella's greatest joys and pains were her family, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for us. She loved watching Venus and Serena play tennis. She leaves to mourn her passing: her son, Carl; daughter, Pee Wee preceded her in death; 2 grandchildren, Courtney and Mandy; 3 great grands, Kayla, Raheem and Gaby; 3 nieces, Paulette, Sharon and Berna- dette; 4 nephews, Darrell, Tony, Buck and Tim; 1 niece-in-law, Jerilyn Timpson and a host of great great great great great nieces and nephews, cousins andfriends.
