Obituary

After a lengthy illness, God in His Infinite Wisdom granted peace to Creola on Monday, September 21,2015 at 8:30 P.M. Creola was born on June 30, 1925 in Chester, South Carolina to the late William and Bride Morant The youngest of eight siblings she was fondly called Cre. She began her formal education in the South Carolina Public School Systemand her Christian experience began at the Chestnut Grove A.M.E. Zion in Chester, South Carolina. This past August, Cre went home to visit her church. At the age of 12, Cre moved from South Carolina to Baltimore, Maryland to live with her brother Johnny. This move re-united her with her siblings. She shared many joyous and happy times with her siblings. She completed her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Her Christian experience was continued at Jones Tabernacle Baptist Church in South Baltimore until 1944 when she moved to Cherry Hill and joined the Cherry Hill United Methodist Church where she has remained a dedicated member until her death. She served on the Usher Boardfor 20 years. Cre was employed as a Domestic Engineer with several hotels before her retirement in 2007. As she raised her three children, Amanda (Penny), Stanley and Patricia she taught them the importance of having self-worth, good work ethics and values, and provided them with Christian background. She showered her children with love. Creola loved God and loved attending church. She was very disappointed when her health prevented her from attending church. It was very important to her to always look her best. Her outfits always matchedfrom head to toe. She especially loved her hats and was seldom seen without wearing one. Although she became ill, she continued to be in good spirit and never complained. Cre loved to watched Family Feud and play bingo and dominos. She was preceded in death by her five brothers: Kelsey, Johnny, Dewitt, Bernard and Otis; three sisters Sadie, Mary Eliza and Veater; and two grandsons Andre and Harry. Viewing Joseph H.
