Obituary

Curtis Allen, the eldest son of nine children, was granted the gift of life on November 2, 1956 to the late Willerd F. Allen, Sr. and Annie Mae Allen in -Baltimore, Maryland. Having his sister Melinda M. Allen and brother-in-law Stephen Cook, Sf. preceded him in transition.

Curtis was an Alumnus of Carver Vocational Technical High School. There he developed and gain his love for public speaking. Curtis won 1 st place in Maryland for Prepared Speech in Vocational Industrial Club of America ("VICA"), then to compete in the Nationals. He loved Carver, working there as a substitute teacher for many year. He later served as a judge for VICA, encouraging student to compete; knowing this would awaken their gifts and talents.

Curtis was also a member of the NAACP and other groups. He was a strong community activist. You could turn on your TV and see him at a Prayer Visual; dressed in his full Curtis' fashion-wear; but very well spoken. He was always ready to defend the rights of those who were wronged. Curtis attended the Million Man March, to add his voice for Equality. He served as an Election Poll

Official for many years. Also, one of his most enjoyed activities was serving the homeless at the

Bea Gaddy's Family Center. He had a heart full of love for his community.

But most of all, Curtis loved his Savior and the Lord's Word. It would be his peace of mind or sometime his weapon; when trying to get his point across. He proudly proclaimed the Lord Jesus as King of his life.

He leave to celebrate his life, his mother Annie Mae Allen, siblings Delores Cook, Michael and Willerd Allen, Sue Edmondson, Mae Johnson, Terry and Jerry Allen, brother-in-law William Edmondson, sister-in-law Shelly Allen; a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends; who will remember fun times in their hearts.
